This SF Chronicle Article details the problem, product, company, and some of the lawsuits. According to the Chron article, company execs tried to cover up and deny the problem for years, but their official website makes it look like they did a voluntary recall."

Besides making devices such as light bulbs and solar cells more efficient, the method would also help to keep optical telecommunications networks moving. At the moment, many light frequencies are bounced down optical fibres simultaneously. If a particular frequency is being used to capacity, then optical switches could shift light beams to a frequency where there is still capacity to spare.

This is my comic book area, where I give the general public access to view the information I have collected since 1988 about the comics books I own, or wish to own, most of which are from Marvel and D.C Comics. My current setup for this site is running Windows 2000 Server for my operating system, Asp.net and IIS 5 for my presentation, I am using MS SQL 2000 for my database, and MS Index Server to provide search engine like lookups of my comic book data. I did use some outside webites for information, for comic book issue summeries, these sites can be found in works cited. And for you stat's junkies who want to know how much information is in this db click here.

One can discuss the merits of whether AMD's model number nomenclature is fair and just. But as we do this we ignore a product that displays a level of inequality when measured against Athlon that cannot be ignored. It's called Celeron. For a similar price, and knowing how much better Athlon performs against Celeron, how many people would recommend to their friends, relatives, or colleagues a Celeron-based system? Not many I hope. But what actually happens is very different. For every Athlon that AMD sells, Intel probably sells at least two Celerons. Consumers and businesses continue this blind approach to IT expenditure.

ABCNEWS.com : New Species of Giant Jellyfish Found A new species of jellyfish with a yard-wide fleshy red bell and a cluster of wrinkled, thick arms has been found by scientists nearly a mile beneath the cold, dark waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Marine biologists at Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute discovered 23 of what they call Big Reds in Monterey Bay and the Sea of Cortez and off Hawaii, Japan and the Farallon Islands near San Francisco, according to the latest online edition of the journal Marine Biology.
