JumpBox Info

What is a JumpBox

JumpBoxes are
virtual computers that make installing and managing server based
software dramatically easier. All that's required is one of our supported virtualization platforms
and you can have a server based application running in minutes on Mac
OS X, Windows or Linux. This provides considerable time savings over
manual installation while also being very easy.

The applications we distribute are created
by a broad array of developers and solve many different problems.
JumpBox doesn't develop the applications, we simply package them in a
clean, simple and easy to use format. This JumpBox bundles the Open
Source application MediaWiki.

Our goal is to make server based software as easy to install and use as
desktop software and in the process expose this great software to many
more people. With a JumpBox, what previously took a skilled technician
hours or days to install and configure now requires considerably less
technical skill and takes just minutes.

JumpBoxes are great for trying new applications,
development, experimentation and for production usage in many
situations. Plus the JumpBox advantage doesn't end with installation.
We also provide useful features like integrated backup/restore that
makes protecting your data easy. Support for the JumpBox runtime is
also available with the purchase of a JumpBox Assurance plan.
