Court squashes FCC hardware rules: "A FEDERAL Appeals court has chucked out rules that would require digital televisions, DVD recorders and personal computers to contain anti-piracy technology.

The Federal Communications Commission designed the rules under pressure from the film industry which feared that someone might copy high-definition programming."
